Plan on a LONG day for this trail, but you won't regret a minute of it. Everyone needs a picture of their rig on the Golden Crack and this best opportunity to get it done. The Golden Crack marks the beginning of the final nasty mile to Gold Bar Rim. Description: The Trifecta is the ultimate Moab wheelin' experience as it encompasses 3 trails with numerous challenging and fun obstacles. Some of the highlights of this route include a steep slickrock ramp called Launchpad, a giant slickrock mountain called Skyline Drive, Zuki Hill, a challenging rock gap called the Golden Crack, a steep ledgy area called the Golden Stairs, and a smooth but very steep section called the Wall. There are tight turns in a canyon bottom and one short slickrock ledge, followed by a long stretch of ups and downs over broken rock, with a few sharp steps. Most of the route follows high heart-pumping cliffs that overlook Moab. After passing the Poison Spider Mesa obstacles, there is some easy slickrock driving on fins with one very steep uphill (the Launching Pad) and one steep downhill. Its free, takes little time, and convenient to other Moab attractions. Interesting for all ages, the 4 year old twins and their 5 year old brother were as fascinated as the adults in the group. Much of the route is near the rim above Moab Valley and offers gorgeous views in all directions.
